Taking care of your clothes with homemade laundry

Taking care of our favorite clothes and the planet also means cleaning them in an eco-responsible way.

You can use homemade laundry for this.

There is nothing more simple.

  • Heat 2 liters of water to a boil.
  • Add 100 grams of real Marseille soap preferably with olive oil. Stir until pieces of soap are completely melted. It is important to liquefy the soap in order to protect the hoses of your washing machine.
  • Put it off the heat.
  • While stirring add 120 grams of soda crystals then 80 grams of baking soda.
  • Let cool and bottle

Real Marseille soap is green brown with olive oil or cream with palm oil. Any other color will be the proof that your soap is not a Marseille soap but that is simply a copy of the soap.

You can add white vinegar to the softener compartment. Contrary to popular belief, this liquid is not aggressive for your laundry.

If you have a tumble dryer, take out your clothes at the end of the cycle. This will prevent wrinkles that won't crease.

For white laundry, add a handful of baking soda when washing. You will be surprised at the result.

CAUTION: Never mix baking soda and white vinegar in advance. Indeed, these two ingredients mixed in advancee decrease the efficiency of the final product. Having an acidic ph and the other a basic ph, mixing them too early amounts to neutralizing their effectiveness.

Once a month, run your machine empty to avoid cluttering your pipes.
